For almost 12 years, as many of you know, I have been gathering family history. One document (my father's naturalization certificate) launched my genealogical search for information. The Tailor Shop records these findings. It follows the journey of four people immigrating to the United States: my maternal grandparents-- Chana Fleischmann, Fischel Reiter, their daughter, Lena, and my father-- Adolph Blitzer. Through these individuals we catch a glimpse of life as it was in the old world and its transfiguration as they adapted to the American way. Why the website? As I began outlining the book, there was so much to say, I realized it would take years to complete. Establishing the Web Site Reiterblitzer.com solves the problem. The computer allows me to post chapters as I write (immediately available for the viewer to see) and fulfills my objective, to share what I've learned with others. It is February 2001; the site will be open one year. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you visit often, as more chapters appear. Please sign the guest book, adding your comments, questions, and/or suggestions. The feedback will help me prepare the final draft of The Tailor Shop. Best Wishes, Jeanne, sixth child of Lena and Adolph Blitzer
